BRASS FROM THE PAST: Rare 1912 Brua C. Keefer Highest Grade Bb Cornet. Made in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. I have a somewhat personal connection to this cornet because it was made in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. That is where I was born in 1958. This horn is in great shape for its age of 112 years. I don’t think I’ll last that long.🤣🤣 Brua C. Keefer bought out the Distin music instrument company in 1909 that was located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This horn is very similar to a Distin cornet. Highest grade is stamped on the bell which means it was their top-of-the-line cornet. It has beautiful engraving up and down the bell and even around the bell bow. Engraving is also on the slides. Listen to sounds from the past. About 112 years ago. “Tin Roof Blues”. This song was written and recorded in 1923. 11 years after this cornet was made.
