My script: Today I will give you some information about the sixth generation of the Civic, which was built from September 1995 to December 2000. In this series there were some body variants to choose from, three- and five-door hatchback, two-door coupé, four-door notchback and five-door station wagon. The coupé was manufactured in the USA, the three- and four-door models in Japan and Swindon, the five-door model and the station wagon in the new factory in Swindon (England). But let's focus on the coupe that followed in spring 1996. At first, there were only the three-door hatchbacks and five-door sedans. From November 1995 the Civic had a large selection of Otto engines to choose from. A 1.4 litre engine with 55 kW served as the entry-level variant, but the top engine was built into the coupe, hatchback and sedan, which had a 1.6 litre engine with 118 kW. Only the 124 kW 1.8 l engine was used in the five-door and station wagon. Al these engines are, without exception, in-line four-cylinder engines. The Type R, which from 1997 was only available in Japan, produced with a 1.6-litre engine with 136 kW. In order to transfer the engine power to the wheels, a manual five-speed transmission and an automatic transmission were available on almost all models. The 1.6 Si and 1.6 SiR models were only offered with a five-speed manual transmission, but were not available in Germany, while the 1.6i LS and 1.6i SRi models offered a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic transmission. That should be it, tune in next time, if it goes on with the building on the EJ6.
