BOQUETE

Boquete (not easy to pronounce, so please excuse pronounciation), is a District of the Chiriqui Province in Panama located on the North of the Chiriqui Province, in the Western side of the country. Boquete is situated about 60 kilometres from the border of Costa Rica and lies on the Caldera River, in Panama's green mountain highlands. Because of its elevation, some 1,200 metres (3,900 ft) above sea level, its climate is cooler than that of the lowlands. Its scenic location, temperature, and natural environment make it popular with Panamanians and attracts tourists and retirees from all over the world.

The capital lies at the city of Bajo Boquete. The population of Boqute, according to the 2010 census, was 22 435 and District covers a total area of 488.4 kilometers.

Boquete is divided into the following administrative areas:

Alto Boquete;
Bajo Boquete;
Caldera;
Jaramillio;
Los Naranjos;
And; Palmira


Our Channel is all about Panama, our move to Panama and the beauty of this Country.

We will be featuring individual stories of people that have immigrated to Panama including their struggles prior to arrival and their thoughts and views on Panama. Not "interview style" although a short video clip of couples discussing their move will be awesome.
