As an employer, you must protect your workers from the health risks of working with display screen equipment such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

These Regulations apply to workers who use DSE daily, for an hour or more at a time

Employers must:
Do a DSE workstation assessment.
Reduce the risks making sure employees take regular breaks from DSE work.
Provide training and information to employees.
Provide a free eye test if workers ask for one, and provide glasses if the employee only needs them for DSE work.

Incorrect use of DSE or poorly designed workstations or work environments can lead to pain in necks, shoulders, backs, arms, wrists and hands as well as fatigue and eye strain, and the causes may not always be obvious.
