When to Use GUI vs CLI:
Use GUI:

When you need to browse files, manage media, or work with software that has graphical interfaces (e.g., web browsers, office suites).

When you're not performing administrative or repetitive tasks.

When you're new to Linux and want an easier, more approachable experience.

Use CLI:

When you're performing advanced system administration, like installing software, configuring services, or managing users.

For tasks that need to be automated or repeated (using shell scripts).

When you're working with remote systems (via SSH) where a GUI might not be available.

When you need to perform quick, efficient, or bulk operations on files and directories.

Both GUI and CLI have their place in Linux. A good Linux user often switches between both depending on the task at hand, using the GUI for ease of use and visual tasks, and the CLI for more complex, administrative, or performance-sensitive tasks.

2. Switch to a Different Virtual Console
If you're on a terminal (text-mode console) and want to switch to a GUI (if it's already running), you need to switch to a different virtual console. Linux supports multiple virtual consoles, which you can switch between using keyboard shortcuts.

Switch to a GUI session:

Typically, your GUI runs on tty7 or higher. You can switch to the graphical environment using Ctrl + Alt + F7 (or F1 through F6 for other virtual consoles).

Switch to a text terminal:

If you want to return to the CLI (text mode), you can press Ctrl + Alt + F1 through F6, which takes you to different virtual terminals.
