JONATHAN REDMON grew up as part of a mixed-race family in Canada, encountering bullying and racism that led him down several dark paths. One path led him to the Hare Krishna movement - a group that took him in and encouraged him to stay on as an outreach member.

Over the years Jonathan -- now renamed Jagajivan Das - was exposed to islamophobia, homophobia and maltreatment of women within this apparently enlightened group. One day, he knew it was time to leave.
