Feit Electric 15-Watts A15 Incandescent Appliance Light Bulbs

The Feit Electric 15-watts A15 incandescent appliance light bulb, one of the few incandescent light bulbs still sold at the The Home Depot (as of the time of this taping). Currently retailing for $4.48 per box of 2, for a total of $2.24 per bulb. Certainly quite a bit more than they used to be, but at least they still exist.

The bulbs output 70 lumens of light and have a claimed lifespan of 2,000 hours. The filament appears to have the C shaped design, supported in multiple areas for better durability against vibration.

Interestingly enough, the bulb is claimed to be good for various appliances, including ceiling fans. I'm very surprised that was allowed to be published on the box as a ceiling fan light, as far as I can tell, is 'general illumination', which I thought incandescent is no longer allowed to be used for.

I got these bulbs with the intention of using them in the bedroom ceiling fan. The bulbs have a very comfortable, soft glow and are easy on the eyes in an exposed application. They have a delicate frosting over them, which gives a very vintage appearance. Good color rendering, no flicker, and no obnoxious amount of blue light. I would prefer clear bulbs for this particular ceiling fan as the clear bulbs reflect off the polished brass better, but this is purely a matter of personal preference and is no fault or shortcoming of the bulb itself.
