2004 Volvo S40 LSE Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Описание к видео 2004 Volvo S40 LSE Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

The symptoms on my '04 Volvo LSE were: erratic engine surging out of control (rather scary knowing what happened to some Toyota's a while back), check engine light came on, and the temperature gauge needle would drop to cold during the surging or engine revving fits. Replacement purchased from http://www.fcpgroton.com (Part number: 9125463) for $24.99 + 10.14 UPS Ground (you can order other things for your Volvo to realize a lower shipping rate). Still much cheaper than the other prices I found (~$60) + it's a German made part (Meyle). IMPORTANT: Make sure you have some antifreeze on hand to replace what you might lose in either replacing the sensor alone (you will lose some fluid) or when replacing both the sensor and the thermostat. REMEMBER TO FILL UP THE OVERFILL WITH ANTIFREEZE IMMEDIATELY

Amendment: I ended up with a faulty sensor.... not good. Going to change the buying recommendation to Volvo dealer products only. I ended up buying and picking up the parts at the local Volvo dealership for ~$90... just wished I hadn't wasted the other $$$ buying inferior junk parts. Live & learn. Reinstalled the parts and it runs perfectly!
