Before the 1969 NFL season started, the Philadelphia Eagles traded away cornerback and punt returner Alvin Haymond to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for quarterback Billy Guy Anderson, cornerback Jimmy Raye, and a third round pick in the 1970 NFL Draft. One week later, Eagles general manager Pete Retzlaff asked Commissioner Pete Rozelle to cancel the trade.
