ASMR | Humira Injection for Ankylosing Spondylitis & Crohn's Disease

Описание к видео ASMR | Humira Injection for Ankylosing Spondylitis & Crohn's Disease

In this ASMR-style video, Alexandra, a patient diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and Crohn's disease, walks us through her usual bi-weekly routine of self-injecting her biologic medication, Humira.

This injection represents a class of medications called biologics, which include adalimumab (Humira) and etanercept (Enbrel) among others. They're genetically engineered proteins that target specific parts of the immune system that fuel inflammation.

In other words, with autoimmune diseases like ankylosing spondylitis, your immune system goes haywire and attacks itself. Biologic drugs tell your immune system to chill the heck out. Learn more about giving yourself biologic injections at https://bit.ly/2NHa2EZ.

We hope that this video helps ease some of your anxiety about self-injections. Please note that this is a practice injection pen and Alexandra did not inject herself with actual medication.

Humira is one injection that is available to patients with inflammatory autoimmune conditions. Other biologic injections include Golimumab (Simponi), Sarilumab (Kevzara), Ustekinumab (Stelara), Secukinumab (Cosentyx), Abatacept (Orencia), Tocilizumab (Actemra), Certolizumab pegol (Cimzia).

*ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, a sensory phenomenon that is known to induce relaxation and counteract anxiety.
