During the Ming Dynasty, the Chinese fought with the Japanese pirates.
This ancient manual was written and drawn during that period by 程宗猷 (Cheng Zong You), who learnt from 刘雲峰 (Liu Yun Feng). Liu, learnt Japanese swordsmanship, Kenjutsu, directly from the Japanese during that time.

This ancient manual teaches techniques using the 2-hand Longsword or saber, known as Dandao or Miao Dao, against the spear.
