Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this sharp 1951 Chevrolet 3800 Long bed Pickup. If you are looking for a full-sized truck with original 50's looking appeal, this is the Pickup for you. Powered by a date correct inline 6-cylinder engine and mated to a manual transmission. 1950 saw the conversion from lever-action shocks to the modern tube type. Load capacity ranged from 1,500 pounds on the 3100 series up to 2,900 pounds on the 3800 one-ton model. Trucks rode on 16-inch tubed-tires, with three body lengths available. A side-mount spare tire carrier between the cab and the left rear fender became optional. This example is a 1-ton long bed and it sure does take up some road while cruising. This 3800 is painted in a beautiful green and cream paint theme that suites the truck nicely. Green pin striping, painted to match steel wheels, wooden bed, and the chrome grille all make this truck turn some heads while passing by. The interior is furbished in black vinyl with the paint theme flowing into the cab. The battery is hidden under the passenger side floorboard for easy access. This truck runs and drives great, it would be perfect for actual truck use, taking to shows, advertising a business, or even simply driving. Not many of these trucks are still on the road today and if so, they have been customized. Do not let this truck pass you by.
