We visited Johan Andreassen, bass player for the Swedish metal band AMARANTHE, to take a look at what gear he uses on stage! In this video, Johan showcases his weapon of choice, a Warwick Streamer Stage I bass. Sporting a Faded Chrome Antique Tobacco finish, this bass exudes a unique charm with intentional corrosion adding to its character. Equipped with LED lights for better visibility on stage and a Hipshot® Bass Xtender for easy downtuning, this bass is both functional and stylish! Johan also introduces his other Streamer Stage I bass with a sleek White Transparent Satin finish, highlighting its micro USB charging port that makes it easy to charge the battery that powers the active electronics. Both basses feature the standard MEC Warwick pickups and EQ, delivering a powerful sound. Additionally, Johan shares his simple yet effective pedal board setup, including a Drop pedal for versatile tuning options, all mounted on a RockBoard pedal board from Warwick. Taking simplicity to the next level, Johan relies solely on a Quad Cortex amp modeler for effects processing, eliminating the need for amplifiers and cabinets. With a commitment to simplicity and functionality, Johan proves that less is indeed more when it comes to gear.
