Titles read: "EATS FOR LONELY MEN!"



M/Ss of a single guardsman patrolling a desolate area and other soldiers standing around chatting at a rural outpost. We then see various good shots of ATS cooks at work in a large army kitchen, preparing meals for troops. They cook many dishes using mass cooking methods, eg. steam ovens for potatoes, machines for peeling and mashing, massive ovens and saucepans for cooking vegetables.



The cooked food is weighed to check it conforms to rationing requirements and stored in canisters ready for shipment by lorry out to men on guard duty.
