I've been wanting to share this suggestion for a long time. SMGs has been meta for far too long and it's time to look at the real problem (IMO). More or less the same goes with Well of Radiance and the Resilience stat in PvE.

Instead of nerfing SMG ranges as a whole, increase the recoil at lower stability to make the stat more desirable so that building the perfect SMG takes more than max range on all perks.

Instead of nerfing the damage reduction from resilience, make the rest of the stat (most notably mobility and intelligence) somewhat equally desirable. This way, players need to be more considerate when distributing their stats rather than prioritizing 100 points on a single stat just because it's the only one that matters.
