The Journey Of A Doctor: ଚାଷ ଜମିରୁ ଏଣ୍ଡୋସ୍ପାଇନ ସର୍ଜନ

Dr. Paresh Chandra Dey, a bright student from a modest Balasore family was told to work as a farmer but, due to his will power he completed his studies and went on to become a successful & very renowned Doctor today. He adds that sometimes from attending classes also he was being called by his father to work on the farm and cultivate. Today he is World 3rd rank in Endoscopic surgery and has done 2500 cases and providing selfless service to the society.

He completed his MD in Orthopaedics from SCB Medical College, Cuttack. Then he moved to Mumbai to learn more on his subject. He faced many difficulties in Mumbai like he had to share his room with an old friend in a Mumbai and wandered here and there for a job which has something to offer him more.

Finally he got selected for Senior Residency job in HN Hospital (Hurkishondas and Narottamdas Hospital). After a short span of time he got a chance in Bombay hospital for senior residency under Dr. K.T Dholakia (considered as father of Orthopaedics in India).

After that he shifted to Odisha and joined Kalinga hospital. Then moved to Balasore where he had to stay in a 10*10 room and a mess. Initially he started his clinic by taking Rs 20-30 fees. Gradually he was offered many Government jobs also like from Bolangir Headquarter hospital etc. But, he didn’t join there and thought it will not develop his skills. Then he joined Jatania Nursing home and in 2007 he went to Delhi and met Storch company personnel who advised him to learn Endoscopy.

After that there was no looking back as in-
• 2017 –He started Odisha Arthroscopy society and still is the Founder & President. It has 186 members now
• Learnt Endoscopic spine surgery
• Did Fellowship in Sports injury
• 2007 Aug- Went to France and learnt Arthroscopy shoulder from Dr. Flurin pieri henri
