Bayswater Station New Platforms Opening

Описание к видео Bayswater Station New Platforms Opening

On Monday the 8th of April 2024, with the conclusion of the Midland and Airport Line Shutdown, the new platforms at Bayswater Station were opened for operation from first service, the 5:12 Airport Line service from Perth, which I took. Outbound trains on the Midland and Airport Lines now service platform 4 at Bayswater, while the inbound trains still service platform 1 on the other island. Platforms 2 and 3 are now fenced off until the opening of the Ellenbrook Line in December, and the track through them has been removed. The junction to the Airport Line tunnel has also been reconfigured to accommodate the new track layout.

In this video we start on Wanneroo Road catching the first 388 service of the day at 4:38AM on its short trip which starts on Wanneroo Road after Beach Road, running straight to Perth Busport. I'm pretty sure is the only Transperth bus service to have zero turns along the whole route. It was rather well used! We then take the first service after the shutdown, which is the first one stopping at the new Bayswater platform, and take a quick five-minute look around the station as we had to rush back on the first Midland Line train of the day to get to Perth on time for the C-Series (   • Transperth C-Series Operating on the ...  ). The second half of the video looks at the reconfigured tracks and new platform in the daylight.
