RIPLEY - Eddie Van Halen Unreleased ( cover )1984 - T.J. Fuller electric version Improv Brown sound

Just a quick jam to one of my very favorite EVH tunes , i learned this song way back in the day off the wild life video on a cheap Radio Shack Cassette player / now all those tunes are all over youtube from the movie

so I'm continually working on my brown sound

I recorded this with an actual KNE guitar body / homemade guitar / not Ash but, poplar
Poplar is a great tone wood , just lends itself to easy splitting so not a popular tone wood for mass production guitars these days / Way better sound to my ears than Mahogany or Basswood
Seymour Duncan JB model , one volume knob

I also Used an ADA MP-1 Preamp but, not stock tubes / NOS Mullard tubes with more of a vintage Marshall Flavor

Belle epoch by Caitlin Bread is a fantastic pedal for emulating the old Maestro Tape Delays

Spent a lot of time EQ'ing properly / probably more of a VH tone secret than most realise
a natural speaker rolls off frequencies that were bumped up after the fact , by just enough
to give ED that Hi Fi sizzle not fizz thankfully ED's tone was never fizzy
