Break the loud silence with communities

Imagine a life where a 12-year-old is a parent!
As a young girl, I have grown up suffering from period poverty till I got support from my former school but this has not reduced the problem in other families and villages like mine.

In 2020, my country Uganda had the longest lockdown which created a way for girls to engage in teen pregnancy and early marriage due to lack of money and having nothing to do in their minds.

The fact that there is period poverty and teen pregnancy plus early marriage, you and I can be against this by spreading awareness and looking for ways to support the poor girls.

In my first action, I created a project named youngsters' appeal were I worked with three girls to sew reusable sanitary pads and provide them to the poor young women in schools and our village. This has been done after fundraising from Xian Liagjiatan International school and a grant from the MYP innovator grant.

Wouldn't it be great if we eradicate period poverty to eliminate early marriage, teen pregnancy, and school out-drops among girls living in rural areas?
