Khalid el Estal, an Irish-Palestinian father of two, was reunited with his children at Ireland’s Dublin Airport on November 19 after his son and daughter were evacuated from Palestine’s Gaza via the Rafah crossing as part of a group of Irish citizens permitted to cross the border.

Speaking to the Irish Times, el Estal expressed his “mixed emotions” upon reuniting with his children as he lost his wife, brother and mother in Israel’s relentless air strikes.
