An Early Windy Memphis Morning

I got out early this morning before the day got started - I felt needed some practice time or I was just going to explode. So I packed up and headed out looking for a place where I could practice my video recordings, my guitar, and my harmonicas, all while getting in a good exercise workout (a good and healthy bicycle ride). Only thing I was missing was a good Grand Piano, a good meal, and a straight no nonsense, artsy and hot woman and more income to make ends meet. But for now I needed to "JAM!" So I grabbed my guitar and as usual. I wrapped it up safely in my pullover-hoodie zipped-up sweater and stuffed it all in my backpack. I had made this back pack with a cutout in the bottom allowing me to transport either of my guitars hands free, while bicycling throughout the roads, trails and the traffic of the city.

So once again, It was off and away on to, another of my musical adventures into the sunny Memphis early morning. Today it was a very beautiful day with no clouds and a good cool strong breeze blowing to assist with minimizing the presence of insects. This is one of the regular places to get away and practice; one of the Cities Parks. I sometimes will escape to a: college campus, vacant parking lot, church, golf course, or lake, I've been known to also escape to a friends backyards, a guest house or sitting parlor, maybe some shopping mall's or hospital's piano-atrium. Even the botanical gardens or some hotels banquet room. there's never no telling when or where the spirit of the music will take me. The best part of the this park for me is the running water at the pond, the open and creative spaces one needs in order to keep a constructive frame of mind. Plus I can find some privacy if I need to look for it hard enough. At times all this is offered by The Overton Park 1914 Poplar Ave, (901) 214-5450 and it's 342-public park acreage, that seats itself right smack in the in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee.
