Bastow Farm Waterway Project | Landholders | WA | Helping the Harvey

Описание к видео Bastow Farm Waterway Project | Landholders | WA | Helping the Harvey

On Bindjareb Noongar Country in south-west Western Australia, a transformative project has been completed with the landholders at Bastow Farm to showcase how linear drains can be reshaped and revived to boost productivity and biodiversity values, and address problems such as flooding and compaction.

A big way to help restore river health is to work with landholders to slow the flow of tributary drains, keeping more moisture, nutrient and sediment on farm. A win-win nature-based solution for flood-prone drains, creeklines and paddocks!

The innovative works are part of the Helping the Harvey project, supported by Alcoa Foundation and Harvey River Restoration Taskforce as part of broader initiatives to improve water quality, climate resilience and habitat values along a heavily modified section of the Harvey River in WA.
