The First Rotary Combine : NEW HOLLAND TR70

In this video Big Tractor Power is out in the field with a 168 hp 145 bu. Sperry-New Holland TR70 Combine harvesting corn with four row 962 Corn Head. The TR70 was the first combine on the market to use centrifugal force to separate grain using two rotors back in 1975. All combines produced before 1975 used conventional threshing cylinders and straw walkers that utilize gravity to separate grain. In the 25 years following the release of the TR70 all major manufactures of combines introduced rotary harvesters.
