An Amazing New Rule For Sudoku

We only heard about this puzzle this morning but Simon was so impressed with the idea he had to try it immediately. Indeed none other than Phistomefel wrote "I absolutely love this idea and the puzzle is a beauty!" - enough said! It's called Deflection and it's by Myxo.

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply. Each row, column and box contains exactly one “deflection” cell. Each deflection cell contains a different digit. Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits on the indicated diagonal. Digits may repeat along this sum. When a diagonal hits a deflection cell, the diagonal gets deflected clockwise by 90° ("makes a right-turn"). If a diagonal passes the same cell multiple times, that cell's value is counted multiple times towards the clue sum.
