SR-71 Blackbird Review in Xplane 12 | v1.0.3

Описание к видео SR-71 Blackbird Review in Xplane 12 | v1.0.3

A quick overview of the SR71 here in Xplane 12. Is it any good? Let's take her up for a quick spin. By the end of the video you will know if the Blackbird is worth getting for your virtual hangar.

Currently priced at $37 USD - It priced about average for the "simplified aircrafts" . As always on this channel, you get an unbiased & unpaid review. I was not asked to review, I bought it at full price, just like you. As such can speak my mind.

Because its an unusual aircraft, I spent a good hour going through various manuals (spread across numerous files, both included in the download, and in the forums - at this time) I can't really pretend know much about what i'm doing beyond what i've read here... I suffer a legit engine in the last third of the video, which proves the point!

At time of writing, VSkyLabs is producing a "cheat sheet" every day or 2, with some additional instructions on the support forums - I recommend giving them a look over also (via the xp org store). The big thick manual included with the module (while semi-official) is little more than fluff, as almost all the systems it talks about (including lengthy check lists etc), aren't implemented.

Real World Facts: The Blackbird is an impressive aircraft, known for three key features:

Speed: It's incredibly fast, capable of flying over three times the speed of sound (Mach 3+). This speed allowed it to outrun nearly any missile.
Stealth: While not completely invisible to radar, the Blackbird had special black paint that helped absorb radar waves, making it more difficult to detect.
Altitude: It could fly extremely high – up to 85,000 feet. This altitude is so high that pilots had to wear suits similar to those worn by astronauts.
It was equipped with advanced cameras and sensors for reconnaissance missions, capable of capturing detailed images from a great height.
