Two months ago South African actors took their concerns with the Department of Trade and Industry over residuals to Parliament.
Residuals are royalties that are paid to the actors, film or television directors, and others involved in making TV shows and movies in cases of reruns, syndication, DVD release, or online streaming release.
Actors from around the world have those rights but not in South Africa, well at least not until earlier this week when parliament officially passed the Performers Protection Amendment Bill.
