NATEMBEYA Vs WETANGULA :The 'TAWE' Movement

Despite efforts over the years, achieving political unity within the populous Luhya community has remained an elusive goal, with political rivals and observers mocking the ongoing pursuit of unity.

Yet again, the recently witnessed dramatic political exchange that escalated to an open bloody burial incident that saw Natembeya's and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula's supporters clash during a funeral on Friday brought to light what is perceived as a supremacy battle over the region's political kingship.

Since then, a video has been making rounds showing Natembeya addressing a crowd after the incident while making chants against Speaker Wetangula.

The crowd responded with "tawe" (no) to every statement Natembeya said an assumption that a new movement has been launched called TAWE, simply translated as No.
