Homeschool Term 1 Outline, Mother's Logbook, Weekly Schedule, + Organization 2023-24

Homeschool and planning - two of my favorite things that I get to talk to you about today! I’m going to talk about how we go about planning our homeschool year, how we decided on the curriculum, why I don’t use a timetable, and walk you through all the stuff on my computer and how I stay organized. I’m so excited to show you everything we have so far when it comes to homeschooling!

One of the very first things you want to do when it comes to planning out your homeschool is find a curriculum that you love. Often we pick a curriculum based on our children’s needs. I think that is great, but also think that when we have a love for teaching the subject that we are teaching, our children catch on to that love.

You want to consider what your anchors are - what you can count on during your day. I think that one of the most important things that we give our children when it comes to homeschooling is consistency. It’s a really big weakness in homeschooling because it’s easy for our days to blow out, stuff to happen and the day to get away from us. We need to be consistent to help them lay the foundational little bricks to success.

I hope you enjoyed listening as I shared with you how I plan and customize a curriculum to fit our family needs. I really feel like that I get the best of both worlds of being able to have this curriculum that I kind of help design that works into our home and also adapt it to our children and my teaching style. I have a lot of different subjects that we are involved in and it’s easy for me to make my own open and go schedule. I hope that this will help and encourage you with laying a foundation of joy, confidence and love of learning with your children!
