Earlier in the week, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the UK cancelled a meeting with his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis over the latter’s comment on the return of the Parthenon sculptures. The sculptures originally from the Parthenon, Athens was exported to the UK in the 19th century by Lord Elgin and are a part of the British Museum. Keshav Padmanabhan explains the sculptures at the centre of the row.
