“Ajitha Hare”, a popular kathakali padam in Kuchelavritham , written by Muringoor Sankaran Potty .

The play is about Kuchela (a poor Brahmin and a dear friend of Krishna)‘s devotion to Lord Krishna.

Kuchela and Krishna are testaments of a beautiful friendship. Despite the poverty, kuchela always provided krishna with whatever was available at his home with immense adoration & devotion. Especially ‘atukulu’ (flattened rice). It moved Krishna so much that ‘atukulu’ has become one of Krishna’s fondest foods. The song ‘Ajitha Hare’ premises Kuchela’s inability and intense urge to worship Krishna’s feet everyday. His intense devotion and admiration are reflected in the above verses .

Inspired by the version rendered by Gowri Lekshmi from the album Rathnamala , we are happy to present our version of the divine verses and the First single from the Album “The Carnatic Crossover “ , in the Raga “Sri Ragam”.
