Sarokaar - National Policy for Women

The government has elicited suggestions and feedback after making the draft National Policy for Women - 2016 public. Drafted after 15 years of the previous version which came out in 2001, the policy aims to empower women and increase their participation in the changing society.

In this edition of Sarokaar we discuss whether the goals of the policy can be attained with our society still in the quagmire of patriarchy and conservatism and what would be the way forward.
