Wanting to meet and understand the Mentawai tribe was high on my list on my Indonesian travel. So I headed to Padang in West Sumatra and weekly twice a fast boat runs between Padang and Siberut islands and the journey time is 4 to 5 hours depending on the weather conditions as this region is very volatile. so after reaching Siberut islands I was greeted by a local called Sarno who had agreed to host me in this Village on the island and it was a pleasurable experience to have explored his rare village with him. Met a lot of locals including the village police inspector with his smart attire and lovely bike and also Bollywood loving lady constable. Later we prepared to leave the next day toward the forest where Mentawai tribes welcomed us in the best way possible.
