Kindly note that Hindi and Urdu are not really different languages; rather, Hindi-Urdu or Hindustani is a pluricentric language, which has two standardized registers, which have come to be recognized as two different official languages for political reasons. Therefore, one is not surprised to find that colloquial Hindi and Urdu are rather indistinguishable. There is some difference in the higher vocabulary, but the primary manner in which the two are distinguished is through different scripts. When written in Roman, or when heard there is substantial mutual comprehension between the speakers of the two languages. Thus, 'Gita in Urdu' can well be understood by speakers of Hindi. Please feel free to see a few of the parts of the series: if you do not know Urdu, but do know Hindi, you may find the script incomprehensible, but not all of what you are hearing.
