🌱 On the occasion of World Environment Day, the session “Moving Towards a Net Zero Economy – Ending Plastic for Cleaner Air and a Healthier Planet” brought together thought leaders committed to eliminating plastic pollution and advancing circular economy solutions.

The session, moderated by Brajesh Singh, Independent Director, Board Advisor & Wildlife Photographer, spotlighted bold strategies, corporate responsibility, and the real-world challenges of building a plastic-free, sustainable future.

Key Takeaways from Experts:

• Adv. Sudhir Mishra, Chairman & Managing Director, Trust Legal Advocates & Consultants, reflected on India’s environmental contradictions — having outpaced expectations in renewable energy but still struggling with basic issues like cleaning the Ganga. He emphasized that firecrackers are not integral to religion and only contribute to worsening air quality.

• Suresh Bansal, Founder & CEO of DCG Pac, highlighted that nearly 70% of e-commerce packages are still shipped in plastic. He shared that sustainability has been a core focus since day one for his company, with efforts to promote reuse and recycling among customers.

• Shailesh Gupta, Group Managing Director – India & Global Partnerships at d.light, shared how their organization has reduced its environmental impact — with 50% of employees working remotely and a transition from plastic lamination to eco-friendly jute bags, aiming for a zero-footprint future.

• Brajesh Singh, the session moderator, acknowledged the challenges in transitioning to sustainable alternatives and noted that while eliminating plastic is essential, it often results in an additional cost burden on consumers.
