It's been a year after Udit Shankar, a 19-year-old student of Amity University, was found dead under mysterious circumstances. On November 24, 2017, family members held a vigil cum protest in front of the University. There was also heated arguments as guards prevented the family from visiting the spot where the body was found. While the family alleges murder, cops initially treated the case as suicide. The family met CM Adityanath in June this year seeking a CBI probe. The matter was then transferred to the Crime Branch. Family members now say they will move the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case to the CBI.
