The last stop on my way out of the Florida Panhandle this time, was a scenic excursion along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. There were dunes, miles of beaches, and plenty of wildlife.
Might be strange, but my favorite encounter was the cotton rats. It was initially a challenge to get one on camera, but I succeeded.
I also had nice deer sightings. Some were up close, along the road. Others were climbing the tall sand dunes. It made for some nice photographic opportunities.
I filmed a few types of crabs. I always enjoy those. I should have brought my underwater camera. The wind made filming through the waves quite difficult.
Then there were the birds of course. So many species to be found.
