The Petronas Twin Towers, also known as Tower 1 and Tower 2, are iconic skyscrapers located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Designed by Argentine-born American architect Cesar Pelli, the towers were completed in 1998 and served as the headquarters of Petronas, Malaysia's national petroleum company. At the time of their completion, the Petronas Twin Towers were the world's tallest buildings, standing at a height of 452 meters (1,483 feet), including a 242-foot (73.6 meters) pinnacle and spire.

Each tower features an eight-lobed circular structure, containing 88 stories of occupiable space. The design of the towers reflects Malaysia's cultural heritage, as it is based on Islamic geometry. One of the most distinctive features of the towers is the skybridge that connects them on the 41st and 42nd floors. The skybridge does not provide any structural benefit, but it allows the sharing of facilities between the two towers, such as conference rooms, prayer rooms, and executive dining rooms. Additionally, the skybridge plays a significant role in the towers' fire evacuation strategy.
