ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಲ್ಯದ ಕೆಲುವು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನ ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕ್ತಾ ವೈದ್ಯರಾದ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡ್ತಿದ್ದ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನ ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡ್ಕೋತಾರೆ. ಇಂತ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಿತಾ ಅವ್ರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆ ಹಾಗು ಅದರಿಂದ ಸಿಗೋ ಖುಷಿಯ ಬೆಲೆ ಅರಿವಾಗುತ್ತೆ. ಲತಾ ಅವ್ರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾವನ್ನ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನ ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಳ್ತಾ ಅವರಿಗಿದ್ದ ನೇತ್ರದಾನದ ಆಸೆ ನಿರಾಸೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಂಚ್ಕೋತಾರೆ. ಆ ಒಂದು ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಅವ್ರ ಬದುಕಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ದ್ಯೇಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡ್ತಾ ಜನಗಳಿಗೆ ನೇತ್ರದಾನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಿವನ್ನ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕ್ತ ಶ್ರಮಿಸ್ತೀರೋರು ಲತಾ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗಿ ಲತಾ ಅವ್ರು ಸ್ವತಃ ತಾವೇ ಮೃತ ದೇಹದಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣನ್ನ ತೆಗೆಯೋ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನ ಕಲ್ತ್ಕೊಳ್ತಾರೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಒಂದು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಗದಿತ ಸಮಯದೊಳಗೆ ಮೃತ ದೇಹದಿಂದ ತೆಗ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಾವು ನಡೆದು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿ, ತಮ್ಮನ್ನ ಸಾಧಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗದೆ ಅಸಾಧಾರಣವಾಗೋಕೆ ದಾರಿಯಾದ ಆಯ್ದ ಕೆಲುವು ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನ ಹಂಚ್ಕೋತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳ್ತ ಎಂತ ಒಂದು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ದ್ಯೇಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭಲವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗು ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಂತ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದವನ್ನ ಹೇಳ್ತಾರೆ.
ಲತಾ ಅವ್ರ ಆಸೆ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಮೃತ ದೇಹದಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣನ್ನ ತೆಗಿಯೋ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಅನೋದು. ಹಾಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗು ಅವ್ರ ಸಂದೇಶ ಅಥವಾ ಮನವಿ ಅಂದ್ರೆ "ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಹೆದರದೆ ನೇತ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನ ಕಾಣದೆ ಇರೋ ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ನೀಡೋ ಸದಾವಕಾಶವನ್ನ ಕೈಚೆಲ್ಲದಿರಿ."

Latha Narayan qualified cornea grafting specialist women achiever recalls some milestone moments from her childhood. Born to a doctor she says she had learnt to lend a helping hand to her father at a very tender age. Growing up in this environment she took full interest in social service and realised the value of joy it gave by helping the ones in need. Latha recalls the time when she lost her father-in-law who wished to donate his eyes but couldn’t due to lack of timely resource. That one incident changed her moto says Latha. She says she found her purpose and strived hard to bring in awareness and educate people to come forward to donate eyes. Not just that she got trained to procure eyes from the dead and so far she has successfully procured 1000+ eyes and driven the eye donation campaign to her best potential and continues to do so. Latha shares her journey, a few incidents which pushed her to be extraordinary and not settle for being just another ordinary woman. While she does so she thanks her family who are her strength to this meaningful purpose. Latha wishes to train individuals the process and procedure to procure eyes from the dead. She also pleads everyone to come forward and donate eyes which would possibly light up another life.
