This is the anatomy lab chest drain and needle decompression trainer.
It is a model of an adult male upper torso designed to simulate needle decompression, chest drainage and chest tube postoperative care.
The model presents an open visual window of the anatomical landmarks, including the clavicle, ribs, manubriosternal joint, mammilla, pleural cavity, chest wall, muscle, as well as key nerves and vessels through an open window. This design creates a reference for accurate palpation on the opposite side.

To simulate needle decompression, fill the simulated lungs with air using the included inflation bulb. There will be a realistic release of air on insertion of the needle into the replaceable simulated skin over the second intercostal space in the midclavicular line.
To simulate chest drain, fill the reservoirs within the model with water or simulated blood. Incise the replaceable skin pad on the chest wall between the 5th and 6th rib and insert a chest tube.
This trainer comes with replaceable skin, two spare upper chest pads, two spare outside left chest pads, 5 chest seals, 1 inflation bulb, a fluid reservoir, and an operation manual. It can be used in a sitting or supine position
