Federal and provincial ministers hold a news conference in Toronto to announce that excavation of a launch shaft for the Ontario Line subway tunnels has officially begun at Exhibition Station.

In attendance are Prabmeet Sarkaria (Ontario minister of transportation), Kinga Surma (Ontario minister of infrastructure) and Ahmed Hussen (federal minister of international development and MP for York South–Weston), as well as Christine Hogarth (MPP for Etobicoke–Lakeshore), and Abhi Kathuria (executive director of the Liberty Village Business Improvement Association).
