Chilean Necktie from Side Control

Описание к видео Chilean Necktie from Side Control

In this video I show a really cool submission the Chilean Necktie. I recently saw this submission online and I thought it was different and so I started playing with it.

That seated position can be very difficult to get in live sparring and if you do get that position it can be difficult to feed the lapel from the hip all the way up to the neck.

This setup solves both of those problems. Not only will it be easier to feed the arm around the neck, the entry is very easy as well because I combine it with the side control to back transition that I posted earlier.

Two very important things to remember about this move

1. You must pull the slack out of the lapel so that your wrist is making contact with the neck. You can do this by simply pulling towards your hips once you have the lapel fed.

2. When you bring the leg around the head it should just be the ankle with your knee bowed out NOT the whole thigh around the head. It will feel totally different and changes the pressure a lot.

The last, and most counter intuitive thing, is to press away with your arm (it should be straight) to make space for the leg to come over the head. It feels very odd to be pushing away with the arm to power up this choke, but once you start to transition to the back the arm never pulls again. Make sure to watch the video to understand what I am saying.
