Various picturesque shots of New Zealand with farms, countryside and flowing rivers. L/S looking out across a bay. L/S pan across Auckland. L/S of royal ship "Gothic" approaching the dock, various shots of naval personnel waiting. The Governor General and Prime Minister, Mr Holland, line up on the quay. M/S as Queen Elizabeth II descends the steps followed by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, they greet various dignitaries and officials. M/S of sailors lined up, the Queen walks over to inspect them in the rain. L/S of people crowded into the city. C/U policeman and Guards, the crowds cheer as royal procession drives by. Various shots of ladies smiling.

Various shots of Maori dancing and greeting. Crowds surge forward. Various shots of the Queen on a platform, camera pans across huge crowds. M/S as she walks out and shakes hands with officials before getting into her car followed by Prince Philip, crowds cheer as it drives away.

L/S of countryside with huge mountain in background. M/S of sheep and farmer using pitchfork in haystack. M/S as herd of dairy cows are driven uphill. M/S of farmer Harold Tickler who will meet the Queen. Good M/S of horses in field. M/S as Prince Philip drives the Queen up to Alton Lodge stud farm where she watches horses walking around. Good M/S as she sits and watches.

M/S of an outdoor school class with young female teacher showing children places in New Zealand on a blackboard. Various shots of Maori and white children sitting together. Various shots of Maori men carving intricate statues. Various shots of a Maori camp, the women put food in a bag and dip it in the hot spring where it cooks.

M/S of sign 'Welcome to Hamilton', the heart of dairy farming country. The royal car drives up and people wait eagerly. L/S as cattle are led out while the Queen watches and chats M/S of one of the Bowen brothers shearing a sheep. M/S as children ride out on horses. C/U as the Queen walks towards the crowds.

M/S of Te Araroa. M/S of lovely bed of flowers, various shots as ladies work on the arrangements. Various shots of ladies waiting for the Queen. She walks along and admires the flowers. M/S of the Queen on a platform where she meets farmers and local workers. M/S as she meets Harold Tickler and his wife Beryl. Good M/S as she smiles and shakes hands.

L/S of geysers blowing at Rotorua. M/S of Maori boys doing formation diving from a bridge into the river. The Queen climbs up rocks with Maori guide and the guests are shown around Rotorua. They watch Maoris canoe down the river as their ancestors did when they first arrived.
