Class: GT4 Championship
Car: Nissan Z GT4

This is the third round event from the GT4 Championship Class which takes place at Zolder Circuit.

Zolder is a fairly short distance track with several tight bends, chicanes and high-speed curves. So I thought it would make more sense to tune my Nissan Z to primarily improve its cornering/handling capabilities. At the end of this Qualifying session I don't believe my final setup maximized the full potential of pace when navigating through the high-speed areas of sector 1 of this circuit. But I really like the way my Nissan Z handled while navigating through the rest of this circuit.

The very beginning of this race became an outright mess as several cars drifted off or got bumped off of the track in Lap 1. Starting at the middle of the grid I was able to see much of the carnage unfold ahead of me as I pulled away from the starting grid. I was fortunately able to avoid receiving the worst of collisions that some drivers in front of me took. But I also did not get away from the entire scene unscathed. I managed to weave through the carnage very slowly and continue my first lap of the race. At this point a small group of very fast drivers had already separated themselves from the rest of the field. I was content to be able to continue my race with my car mostly intact with minimal damage.

While proceeding right along in this race I try to settle down and get a feel of driving my Nissan Z on this twisty track. This is when I unfortunately began to make critical mistakes on the track that led to warnings. In fact I saw several track warnings throughout this race -- too many #$%#% track warnings! 😬 I could not establish any kind of rhythm in this race as I was continually forced to slow down to stop the blinking yellow madness that was occurring at the top of my TV screen. 🤦‍♂️
