Thanks for checking out this clip from episode 37 of Drum For The Song podcast featuring Denise Dufort from British female rock veterans, Girlschool. In this clip Denise confirms that Motorhead drummer Philthy 'Animal' Taylor was influential and how much she enjouyed watching him perform live. She also describes how she couldn't play on his drum kit because he had his drum stool set too low.

In this episode, we have lots of laughs and we talk about the history of Girlschool including their introduction and collaboration with Motorhead including the recording of the HeadGirl EP 'St Valentine's Day Massacre' where Girlschool and Motorhead recorded cover versions of each others songs. Denise explains that she had to record the drums for both bands because Motorhead drummer Philthy 'Animal' Taylor had broken his neck.

We also talked about playing shows with Saxon, Uriah Heep and Diamond Head after the pandemic and future plans for the band including upcoming tours with Alcatrazz in Europe and a new album. We also talked about Denise's favourite drum brands and past endorsements and find out that Denise never uses her own equipment anymore.
