DIY: EASY Throttle Body Cleaning on a Honda Civic Hybrid
This 2008 Honda Civic has about 186,000 miles and this is the first time it got cleaned. You will need a philips screw driver, throttle body cleaner, clean rag, pliers, gloves and goggles. Overall you need to remove the hose to the TB and spray cleaner on the rag to wipe the deposits. You DO NOT want to spray cleaner down the TB. JUST WIPE IT with a rag with cleaner. There are several discussions of whether or not to open the throttle for the cleaning as it is a motor drive and may get damaged, it is up to you if you want to take that risk. If you dont want to risk it, clean around the throttle and along the edges. After the TB cleaning, you will need to do a idle reset / relearn procedure so the car can relearn the idle rpm.

This is how i do it for entertainment, do so at your own risk or bring it to an auto professional at repair shop. Thanks for watching.
