Reports suggest the BCCI granted Kohli special permission to undergo his fitness test in the UK.

Meanwhile, players like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Mohammed Siraj cleared their tests in Bengaluru. The assessments included yo-yo endurance runs and strength evaluations, with Phase 2 scheduled for KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and others.

India’s T20I squad is gearing up for the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, though Kohli has retired from the shortest format.
