Early this morning just before 2:00 a.m. the Modesto Police Department along with E.M.S. crews were dispatched to the Quality Inn Hotel at 500 Kansas Ave. in Modesto, California for reports that two people had been shot during an altercation inside their hotel room.

During the shooting several people in the hotel room jumped out their room window and ran for cover. Then the victims made their way to the front office of the hotel to call for help.

Their has not been a lot of information released to the public at this early time in regards to what is bound to be an extensive investigation.

However, Modesto News .org was able to gather some preliminary information from radio traffic and what we saw on the scene.

The altercation appeared to involve two separate groups of people. The number of people in each group is unclear. We know that the shooting did occur inside of the hotel room. We also know, do to Medic radio traffic, that one of the victims was a 36 year old male who had been shot in the abdomen and had, "A lot of blood loss." The second victim seemed to be in less critical condition and may have been shot once in the hand. We also know that several rounds traveled into other occupied hotel rooms however, no one else was hurt. One of the victims stated that they thought the gun was a 40 cal. handgun.

Early suspect information was only that of, some sort of white 4-door vehicle.

The Modesto Police Department should be putting out a press release later today. If and when they do this video will be updated in the video description section below the video.

Modesto Police are investigating an early morning shooting at a local Modesto motel which left two people shot.

This morning, March 14, 2012, just before 2:00 AM, Modesto Police Officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting at the Quality Inn located at 500 Kansas Avenue in southwest Modesto. Officers arrived to find two people who had each been shot at least once. The two victims, both Las Vegas residents, included a 36-year-old male and a 23-year-old female. Both victims were transported to local hospitals to be treated for gun shot wounds. The female has since been released and the male is listed in critical, but stable condition.

Modesto Police Detectives were called to the scene and started interviewing potential witnesses. Initial reports indicated there were at least two people involved in the shooting and they possibly left in a white vehicle. However, detectives are still trying to confirm this information. Detectives have made no arrests at this time and are still piecing together the facts to try to identify what may have led up to the shooting, and who is responsible.
