Check Engine Light on 02 Corolla

Описание к видео Check Engine Light on 02 Corolla

A friend of mine has been driving around with a check engine light on their 2002 Toyota Corolla for a couple of weeks. They finally stopped by and let me scan the car with my Bluetooth OBDII adapter. I pulled the codes up using my Nexus seven tablet running kit Kat in combination with the torque Pro application. Also note the app is available in a light version for free and can also be used on most smart phones. I was hoping for an exciting code, but it turns out to be one of the most common ones. In fact I see this code so often I made a video about it a couple years ago that can still be viewed on this channel. I will provide a link to it at the end of this description so you can see the diagnostic tree chart involved with this extremely common fault code.

Let me provide an update for you on the repair of this automobile. It set a code P0440 the definition being evaporative fuel malfunction. This can often turn out to be a gas cap problem. Since on this vehicle its original equipment making it about thirteen years old, we decided to go ahead and replace it, and it solved the problem. You have to remember that these fuel caps are required to seal yet are made up of several different cheap plastic pieces. Therefore a defective gas is one of the most common causes of this diagnostic trouble code. With that said, it is possible for it to be something else because there are many components involved with the evaporative emission system. Example, review this page about canister purge valve problems https://www.fixmyoldride.com/vapor-ca...
