Описание к видео 2,000 Nazis Stripped Naked & Executed for Killing 3,000 Croats

Narrator: Marchand Steenkamp.
About the story: In April 1941, Nazi Germany launched Operation Strafgericht, the invasion of Yugoslavia, crushing the country within days and ushering in one of the most violent occupations in Europe. What followed was a brutal war against resistance movements — and against civilians — carried out by German forces and their collaborators across the Balkans. Among the most notorious units deployed was the 7th SS Volunteer Mountain Division “Prinz Eugen.” Formed in 1941 and composed largely of ethnic Germans from Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Romania, the division quickly gained a reputation for extreme violence. Officially tasked with anti-Partisan warfare, Prinz Eugen repeatedly turned its operations into campaigns of collective punishment, targeting entire villages accused of aiding resistance fighters. In late March 1944, beneath the slopes of Mount Kamešnica in Dalmatia, that brutality reached its peak. Between 26 and 30 March, troops of the Prinz Eugen Division, supported by elements of the 369th Infantry Division, carried out a large-scale punitive operation. When Partisan units escaped into the mountains, the German forces redirected their fury toward the local population. Villages such as Donji Dolac, Voštane, Otok, and Ruda were systematically attacked. What followed was a massacre of civilians — women, children, and the elderly. Homes were burned, families executed, and entire communities wiped out. Contemporary estimates place the death toll between 1,500 and 3,000 civilians, making Kamešnica one of the deadliest atrocities in wartime Dalmatia. The massacre later appeared in post-war investigations, including the Nuremberg Hostages Trial, as evidence of systematic war crimes. As the war ended, many perpetrators attempted to flee north. Some were captured and tried, including SS-Brigadeführer August Schmidhuber, who was executed in Belgrade in 1947. Others escaped justice entirely. Today, the Kamešnica massacre stands as a stark reminder of how “anti-Partisan” warfare became a cover for mass murder — and how civilian populations paid the highest price.
