Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) director Ben Jamal said the political chant, “from the river to the sea” was about an end to the “apartheid” system” Palestinians currently live under and nothing to do with take away the rights of any other person.

The press conference follows the release of the Home Affairs Select Committee's report, addressing challenges arising from successive large-scale protests, including the Israel-Gaza demonstrations and those organised by groups like Just Stop Oil.

The committee proposed new restrictions on the right to protest, such as extending the minimum notice period to six days, aiming to enhance police preparedness. The Palestine march organisers include Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Stop the War Coalition, Palestinian Forum in Britain, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and Muslim Association of Britain.
